Golf Performance Group Training

Golf is a unique sport with specific movements and physical requirements.  Our golf fitness groups are designed to help you be in the best shape for your upcoming golf season.  Each session you will train in a small group (4-6) with other golfers who have the same goals in mind, play better and feel better.  We provide a unique style of golf specific training that integrates functional training, core strengthening, and athletic conditioning.  We will help improve your mobility, decrease the incidence of injury, and help improve your distance and consistency.  All the lessons in the world won’t help if you have physical limitations holding you back!   Call or email us now to set up your golf screening and join one of our groups today!

7:40am-8:40am: Adult Fitness (2 Days - T/Th) (Apr 22 - Jun 10)  Location: TOP Fitness

Adult Fitness

Our Adult training program is centered around these physical and educational components:

  • Self Massage & Flexibility - methods to restore and maintain healthy function of soft-tissue.
  • Corrective Exercises - isolated and integrated methods to improve static and dynamic posture of muscles and the bodies kintetic chain.
  • Active Warm-Up - dynamic execrises used to improve the bodies core temperature and elasticity of the soft tissue further preparing the body for strength and metabolic work. 
  • Strength Training - functional strength for upper & lower body and core. 
  • Conditioning - progressive and systematic approach to improve work capacity.

Our goal is to reduce the potential for injury for our clients. Our proactive approach will place an emphasis on:

  • Mobility of the ankle, hip, and thoracic spine
  • Stability of the knee, back, and shoulder

All sports require flexibility, power, speed/agility, strength, and stamina.  Our goal is to get players to excel in all these areas. Our Performance Enhancement Program will help each athlete improve their power and explosiveness for the movements needed on the field.  Every TOP Fitness training session is structured in an environment that is safe, competitive and fun.

Our training program is centered around these physical and educational components:

  • Flexibility - to restore/maintain healthy function of soft-tissue
  • Power - appropriate plyometric progressions to improve lower body & upper body power for improved jumping and rotational speed.
  • Speed/Agility - skills to maximize linear and multi-directional movement

5pm-5:50pm: In Season Athlete (2 Day-select day based on availability) (Apr 22 - Jun 11)  Location: TOP Fitness

In Season

All sports require flexibility, power, speed/agility, strength, and stamina.  It is our job to keep athlete’s in the game and healthy by helping them maintain these physical qualities developed in the off-season.  Our In-Season Training Program will help each athlete feel their best when they need it late in the season and allow them to outlast their competition. 

Our goal is to reduce the potential for injury for our athletetes.  Each 60 minute session is centered around these physical and educational components:

  • Warm-Up -  methods to physically prepare your body for competition
  • Flexibility - to restore/maintain healthy function of soft-tissue
  • Prehab - Prevention is the name of the game our program will focus on mobility of ankle and hip and stability of  knee, back, and shoulder.
  • Strength - functional strength for upper body, lower body and core
  • Nutrition Tips - ways to refuel and recover for practices and games to enhance performance on and off the field.

 

5pm-6pm: Youth Athletic Development (2 Days - T/Th) (Apr 22 - Jun 10)  Location: TOP Fitness

Youth Athletic Development

The Youth Athletic Development program is designed to help teach athletes strategies to improve their movement aptitude. Our systematic approach to teaching athletes will help develop the skills needed to improve overall athletic ability.   We take a multi-lateral and long-term approach to athletic development (LTAD).  Our sessions will not only focus on improving young athletes skill sets by teaching them the biomotor skills necessary be successful with their athletics but will also focus on a positive coaching strategies and improved self-efficacy.

Physical Concepts:

  • Linear/Lateral Acceleration
  • Linear/Lateral Deceleration
  • Change of Direction (cutting)
  • Coordinative Abilities (balance, rhythm, spatial awareness, visual & acoustical reaction)
  • Injury Prevention— ankle, knee, hip, shoulder
  • Core Stability— providing a stable foundation to the bodies center of gravity

Pedigogy Concepts:

Developing young athletes is an art form and is based on one's ability to coach.  Our instructors are taught methods that promote learning by properly “layering” skills empowering athletes to understand the sequencing of perceiving, deciding, and acting more intelligently come game play.

The Youth Athletic Development program is designed to help teach athletes strategies to improve their movement aptitude.
